How we know if Gemini is down
Every 1 minute LLM Live sends a real request to the Gemini API and measures whether it answers, how long the first token takes and how fast text streams. Three failed checks in a row mark it as down. We also read Google's official status page every minute. Every few minutes we pull OpenRouter's success rate for the newest models served by Google's own API; when most of them start failing, the status changes. Spikes in user reports on this page raise a warning even before the provider confirms an incident.
Gemini not working but status is green?
Problems are sometimes limited to one region, account or feature. Try a hard refresh, sign out and in, check your network or VPN, and press “Gemini API isn't working for me” above — if many people do the same, the status changes here first.
